On Sunday morning, the Fox & Friends Weekend team said goodbye to co-host Abby Huntsman, who is departing to join The View, as Mediaite reported first last week.
“The momentum enter we’ve been dreading is saying goodbye to Abby this morning,” said Ed Henry as he and Pete Hegseth introduced a clip montage of some of Huntsman’s best moments from her time with the show.
“It’s impossible to put into words what you mean to us here on the weekend, so we did a little, we didn’t do any work but a lot of producers did a lot of work to bring this package for you,” said Hegseth.
After the video ended, an emotional Huntsman shared her thoughts.
“Oh, my gosh,” she said. “The last three years have been the most transformative I think of my entire life. I’ve given my heart and soul to this place and to you guys and in return, you’ve given it back to me and so have our viewers. And now I have this little one, all she knows is Fox & Friends, and this is a really tough thing
“I’m moving on to the next chapter and mainly to be with my family and to spend time with them, but I just want to thank everyone for being part of the show. I’m leaving you guys in great hands,” she added, “because the people that I work with are the very best in the business. Every single one of you, from behind the camera to our producers, the people that I work with on the air, you guys are my family. Everybody. So I just want to say thank you to all of you.”
“Thank you for believing in us. There’s no other place you’re going to find the stories we tell, the way that we tell them, and that’s because of this team,” said Huntsman.
They then brought out flowers and a cake, and she said “You guys are too much, too sweet.”
“Friends forever, friends forever,” she said.
Fox News issued a statement on Huntsman’s last day at the network: “We thank Abby for her contributions to FOX News and wish her the very best.”
