Joe Scarborough on Kavanaugh: ‘What Are Republicans Afraid of If Truth is on Their Side?’
New allegations of past sexual misconduct of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh came to light over the weekend, further imperiling the already troubled confirmation process for the Trump appointee.
While negotiations regarding allegations put forth by Dr. Christine Ford appear to have led to a coming public Senate testimony will occur on Thursday, the New Yorker dropped a new bombshell report that Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation that dates back to the 1983-84 school year when Kavanaugh was a student at Yale.
This is obviously the lead topic on cable news programs of the day, and with so many swirling allegations, it is hard to make sense. Enter Joe Scarborough, who made by the following:
I mean, the facts will be determined by an investigation and, Mike, I have absolutely no idea why the Republicans can’t do exactly what you just said, pump the brakes, investigate this for a couple more weeks and if they are correct and these women are lying then judge Kavanaugh will be in great shape and if it’s an FBI investigation these women will be going to jail so the question is what are Republicans afraid of if the truth is on their side?
Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer Michael Avenatti also weighed into the controversy surrounding the accusation made against Kavanaugh by claiming he represents a woman with “credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge.” Avenatti also called for Kavanaugh’s nomination to be withdrawn.
