Outnumbered Gets Into Shouting Match Over Joy Behar’s Pence Remarks: ‘Shameful and Appalling’

The View co-host Joy Behar delivered something of a non-apology apology yesterday after comments she made about Vice President Mike Pence, in which she alleged he was mentally ill because Jesus talks to him, went viral, saying “I don’t mean to offend people, but apparently I keep doing it.”

Outnumbered took on Behar’s half-hearted apology this afternoon — getting into something of a shouting match as they discussed whether or not Behar’s original comments could be conceived as a joke.

“This isn’t just an attack on Christians,” Lisa Kennedy said.

Lawrence Jones, concurred, calling her comments “offensive” and calling the other hosts of The View “cowards,” except for Meghan McCain, because they didn’t call out Behar.

Then the shouting began, with host Melissa Francis accusing the talk show hosts of thinking religious views are “silly” and that they are indicative of mental illness.

Co-host Jessica Tarlov tried to defend Behar, saying she definitely thought it was merely a joke, only to be consistently interrupted by shouting chatter.

“Let me finish my sentence!” she said

Finally, Dagen McDowell stepped in to deliver the final rebuke against comedian Behar.

“We lean on prayer and we lean on our faith morning, noon and night and I pray for people I don’t know every single day,” she said. “It is shameful and appalling that Joy Behar would belittle somebody’s faith that way.”

Back in July, frequent Fox News panelist Kayleigh McEnany defended President Donald Trump retweeting a video of a wrestler body slamming the CNN logo as “just a joke.”
