Bernie Fans Abandoned DNC Protest Because ‘Microaggressions’ Made Them Cry
A contingent of Bernie Sanders supporters were so upset by “microaggressions” at the Democratic National Convention Thursday that they were too distraught to carry out a planned disruption of Hillary Clinton‘s speech.
So reports TIME‘s Charlotte Alter:
Bernie delegate told me “microaggressions” kept them from disrupting historic speech. Many in tears after “being marginalized” #DemsInPhilly

Alter later clarified that “microaggression” was indeed their wording, not hers.
@charlottealter Earnest question: did they actually use the word “microaggression”?

@kris_sims literally yes

@charlottealter Thanks. Wow. I wanna move to Vulcan.

The Sanders supporters didn’t lay out exactly what part of Clinton’s speech made them feel marginalized, but she did at one point use the words “hard work.”
