‘Get Out!’ Ex-Bernie Sanders Advisor on Fox Dares James Carville To Make Good on His Threat To Quit Democratic Party

Tezlyn Figaro, a former advisor to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), urged political strategist James Carville to follow through on his threat to leave the Democratic Party, telling Fox News on Monday, “Get out, Jim!”

Carville has made clear his critiques of Democrats in recent weeks, claiming party leaders are “not meeting the moment” by focusing too much on the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and issues like “Palestinian self-determination.” On Sunday, he told Fox News that if streamer Hasan Piker “becomes a force in the Democratic Party,” he’ll leave the party for good, promising that an “overwhelming” majority of fellow Democrats agree with him.

When asked if she sees eye to eye with Carville, Figaro responded, “No! How does he know?”

She continued:

Jim Carville — hey, guess what, Jim? Get out! You know, we can just start calling him “Get Out Jim.” If the Democratic Party wants to reform how they’re moving, if DSA — or I would just say progressives as a whole, because I don’t like to just put this on DSA, because again, I have my criticisms with them as well — but there is a progressive wing of the party that is actually organizing, that is actually winning elections. James Carville, if I understand, he hasn’t won an election — he won an election, finally, in his 40s, you know, no disrespect, but, you know, he doesn’t run how the party moves.

Figaro later added, “You can’t get upset that progressives are actually organizing and winning, and you certainly as hell can’t get upset at the New York Mayor [Zohran Mamdani] for actually being a winner.”

Carville has long spoken out against Mamdani and those he’s endorsed. After three Mamdani-supported candidates won their Democratic primaries for the House of Representatives in June, the political strategist declared, “These people are not Democrats.”
