Expect To See A Lot More Hugh Grant Love On Fox News

Bill O’Reilly and Karl Rove may bust the chops of Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, and other smoking/drinking/eating Hollywood liberals, but we bet the next time Hugh Grant‘s name appears on the network, there will be nothing but kind words. That’s because the Meet the Morgans actor managed to get into a physical altercation with Matthew Freud, son-in-law of Rupert Murdoch and super-critic of Roger Ailes, president of FNC.
Back in January, Freud (who is the great-grandson of Sigmund Freud and married to Murdoch’s daughter Elisabeth) gave some quotes for a New York Times front-page profile on Ailes, saying:
I am by no means alone within the family or the company in being ashamed and sickened by Roger Ailes’s horrendous and sustained disregard of the journalistic standards that News Corporation, its founder and every other global media business aspires to.
Ailes quipped about the descendant of Sigmund Freud,”needs to see a psychiatrist” and that “I’m obviously not going to be invited to his house … with him home anyway.”
We don’t know what beef Grant had with the British Freud, but according to The Daily Mail, a kerfuffle at a nightclub Thursday ended with Freud smearing chocolate cake all over Hugh’s white shirt and the actor punching the famed PR man in the face. So next time you see Glenn Beck talking with tears in his eyes about Hugh Grant’s patriotism, it’ll make a lot more sense.
