Larry King’s Moment: Grilling Ahmadinejad On Holocaust Denial

Picture 6Last night Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was on Larry King to look back at his week at the United Nations and talk about nukes, which he’s hinting more and more that he’ll have soon. The two also talked about Neda. Oh, and the Holocaust.

King, ever the hard-nosed schmoozer, kept bringing Ahmadinejad back to the most basic question: “Do you agree there was a holocaust?” And then, of course, the answers meandered every which way — but mostly to Palestine, and how Palestinians shouldn’t be blamed for the Holocaust. The two postured back and forth about the Holocaust for the better part of ten minutes.

“What my understanding of the Holocaust is is the need to raise a number of questions,” Ahmadinejad told King at the beginning of the questions about his Holocaust denial. “And I actually have raised those questions but unfortunately my words have been distorted by the media … they call it information, the ‘free flow of information.’” Without further ado, Ahmadinejad in his own words:

    MSNBC's David Shuster has been absent from Twitter for a little over a month after taking heat from MSNBC for unloading on costume journalist James O'Keefe.     "Rising tensions on Capitol Hill" is a cliche in cable news, but it may never have been apt than today. With the House currently negotiating a controversial vote on a health care reform, protesters have gathered to voice their opposition to the bill. CNN's Capitol Hill reporter Dana Bash reports today of personally witnessing epithets being used towards John Lewis (D-GA) and Barney Frank (D-MA) by protesters that were identified earlier as "Tea Party people."
