Looking At Pakistan: Counter Terrorism Chief Brennan Wonders How Bin Laden Hid In Pakistan So Long

White House Counter Terrorism Chief John Brennan took questions today regarding yesterday’s shocking news that Osama bin Laden had been killed by Navy Seal Team Six. Brennan revealed stunning details about how the U.S. military operation worked with Pakistani forces: they didn’t, for fear that the Pakistani military would scramble jets. This is just another chapter in an ongoing narrative that is sure to become a much bigger story, namely, how is it that bin Lade was able to stay holed up in a Pakistani compound for such a long time.

Yes the United States is celebrating the successful operation that culminated with bin Laden’s burial at sea, but the political and foreign policy implications of this story are only starting. bin Laden had long been suspected to be hiding out in the F.A.T.A. region of Pakistan, which is an acronym for Federally Administered Tribal Region, long considered a lawless area that falls beyond the jurisdiction and purview of Pakistani government. However, word that bin Laden was killed at a compound in the resort town of Abbottabad, very close to a military academy, raises serious questions about how complicit the Pakistani government and/or military have been in keeping bin Laden’s location a secret.

It sounds like Pakistani forces would have engaged our SEAL team . There’s a lot of questions the Pakistanis need to answer .

Who says bin Laden was hiding ? Every indication is that if he was hiding, it was in plain sight.

I wonder how Chief Brennan has kept his job this long.

The only question that needs answering is how quickly can our troops pack their belongings so they can head for home.

In a ritzy suburb near a military base.

IOW, you would have had to invade Pakistan years ago to get him.

Blame Bush, he wasn’t really looking. Don’t blame me, thats his word.

Bingo. Must be from the same school of thought that holds baby Assad in Syria as a ‘reformer’.

Report: Bin Laden’s compound used to be ISI safe house
The compound in Abbottabad where Osama Bin Laden was killed was once used as a safe house by Pakistan’s premier intelligence agency ISI, Gulf News has learnt.

“This area had been used as ISI’s safe house, but it was not under their use any more because they keep on changing their locations,” a senior intelligence official confided to Gulf News. However, he did not reveal when and for how long it was used by the ISI operatives. Another official cautiously said “it may not be the same house but the same compound or area used by the ISI”.

The official also confirmed that the house was rented out by Afghan nationals and is not owned by the government. The house is located just 800 metres away from the Pakistan Military Academy and some former senior military officials live nearby.

GLENN BECK: “First of all, congratulations to President Obama. He got him. Congratulations to SEAL team,” Glenn said. “I found out this morning that it was the SEALs and I wrote to Marcus [Luttrell] right away and I said God bless you guys.

“My problem with this is that we gave this guy a dignified burial at sea, or at least that’s what they said. I really would have put this guy in a meat grinder with a pig, sorry. Oh, you’re not going to get your 72 virgins? Sorry, that sucks to be you. Wrap him up in Hormel, pack him in a can of Spam, man,” Glenn said.

    “He’s a terrorist. He’s a serial killer. He’s a mass murderer,” Glenn said.

“They gave him a dignified burial and honored the body so he could go and get his 72 virgins? I’m telling you, I would have put cans of bacon bits in every orifice of his body.”

    LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama was waiting for the ideal time. As his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel always stated his number 1 rule; “Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”
On April 26 Obama meets at the White House with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss regional issues, the White House said in a statement.

PERHAPS one of the issues was the question of bin Laden, here’s what we have Prince Mohamed and we are going to take him down, how would you suggest is the best way to handle this situation? Kill him but give him a honourable burial at sea said Prince Mohammed.. OR MAYBE NOT!

Nice lie. Got any more, son?

Pakistan is complicit in allowing UBL to stay there and they had to know he was there. In a country as poor as Pakistan, the building of a million dollar compound with 18 foot walls doesn’t go unnoticed.

Its about 150 miles in from Afghanistan if I measured correctly.

I think it is pretty obvious why he was able to “hide” so long. Time to cease all aid to Pakistan and consider giving it to India. That should get their attention. Pakistan is clearly a phony ally.

    Money.

Given the politicization of killing Bin Laden, and a comment that Obama is playing against type, I wonder if Soros’ interests decided that the time was right to throw Bin Laden under the bus, so to speak. If I were any leader in the Middle East, I’d be suspicious of all actions by the U.S., since every move seems to be taken to improve Obama’s chances of re-election.

Jeez Brennan, did it take you ten years to figure out the Paks are double dealing treacherous bastards? Surprise, surprise.

  • m_mayhem

President Obama had a request for George Bush today.

Hey, Brennan, we’ve got 15-20 million illegal aliens parasites hiding here, how are they able to hold up here without being caught? Maybe we should be looking at this government’s gross-negligence as well!
