Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Accused Of Sexual Assault, Again

TMZ is reporting that Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault by a woman in Georgia, marking the second time in a year the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has faced sexual assault accusations.

The alleged assault took place at Capital City, a club in Milledgeville, Georgia. He has not been formally charged by police.

From TMZ:

The alleged victim, who has already been interviewed by police, has been treated and released.

We’re told in addition to the alleged victim, witnesses are being interviewed — and one law enforcement source says they will attempt to interview Roethlisberger.

Although Roethlisberger is being sued over the first alleged assault, the incident has not been given too much media attention. Unlike Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case, and his much-publicized trips back and forth between games and the trial, Roethlisberger’s legal woes were never brought to the forefront during this past NFL season.

Will that change this time?

Strategically speaking (as disgusting as that sounds) the fact that Roethlisberger had a prior accusation of sexual assault, makes this accusation more believable… even if it’s not the case. We already know he’s got a prior charge, although we don’t know too much about it… so it makes the second charge more media interesting, and somehow more likely… if we want to say that.

I dunno… something about this seems fishy to me. Is there any evidence yet, or just rumors?
