Rachel Maddow Is Starting To Feel ‘Gross’ And ‘Harassed’ By Scott Brown
Rachel Maddow is no longer laughing about Sen. Scott Brown’s attempt to cast her as his political opposition. The other day a failed DM from Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh (he sent his email address and cell number to @maddow), itself inspired by a Facebook group, resulted in panicked fund-raising solicitations from Scott Brown to help combat Rachel Maddow who “has a nightly platform to push her far-left agenda.”
Maddow allowed herself to be interviewed by her executive producer on Tuesday night in order to put an end to the rumors (she’s not running, she’s never considered running, etc.). But apparently that isn’t doing the trick. And Maddow is pissed.
Sen. Scott Brown is using a rumor he didn’t even bother to check to see if it was true to try to scare people into giving him money. Turns out he is sending this to out-of-state conservatives. He’s using, as the lawyers say, my name and likeness to raise money for himself, which would be flattering if I were actually running against him, but since that is completely made up it feels more like it’s just gross and harassing.
Apparently, Maddow’s denial yesterday did not pluck the bubble of Brown’s fantasy world campaign…he told a talk radio show yesterday to, “er, bring her on.” Maybe Brown is secretly playing the political version of fantasy football, and forgot to leave it in the basement. Unclear. According to Maddow, Brown (her senator!) won’t even come on the show or return her phone calls OR retract the email. Perhaps he’s just banking on the fact his constituency doesn’t watch Maddow enough to know anything about her except she’s a scary liberal. Video below.
