Rush Limbaugh, The Feminist, Defends Miss America Pageant

video

Hats off to Rush Limbaugh, leading the 21st Century feminist charge in his roll as a judge for this year’s Miss America pageant. It was hard work! Says Rush:

Folks, this is a big time serious thing, There’s no frivolity at all. It’s very serious. And these women have devoted their lives, in most cases, to this week.

The fact that a group of 24 year old women have actually devoted their entire lives (thus far) to parading around in a bathing suit for people like Rush Limbaugh might be the most depressing thing I expect to read this week. Not surprisingly, however, this is the line that has been getting Rush in trouble for the last 24 hours.

“Oh, I’m a huge supporter of women. What I’m not a supporter of is liberalism. Feminism is what I oppose, and feminism has led women astray. I love women. I don’t know where all this got started…I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it. This idea that I don’t like women is absurd. This is Miss America. And if there’s a Mr. America out there, it’s me.”

Oh Feminism. How could anyone accuse Rush of not loving women when he loves Miss America! Of course, the point as always is not whether you “love” women it’s whether you respect them. That said, I know of very few women (outside the Miss America pageant) dependent on the respect of Limbaugh to get through their day, so maybe just try to enjoy this clip as some sort of modern day glimpse into Peggy Olson land.

I agree with Limbaugh. We should just treat them women like property. Why even let them vote?

I doubt there is any man in America more disgusting than this blubbery blowhard. The fact that he is a judge shows just how low “Miss America” has fallen.

Glynnis, I’m surprised that you take such umbrage with Rush since both of you are so remarkably similar. Two sides of the same coin. Where Rush trolls news for liberal “gotchas,” you do exactly the same thing only with Fox and anything Glenn Beck. Both of you are disgusted, roiled, and depressed by those who just do their shtick. Both you and Rush are never objective, never really listen to an opposing point of view, and are just as shrill as ever when you finally land one.

Jim W, I do wish you’d be more forthcoming in sharing your feelings with us.

Glynnis, I need some help with your (if I may use the word) articulation. When you said “roll” in your opening sentence, did you mean “role…” or something else?

Charles Krauthammer On Health Care Bill: ‘It Will Never Be Repealed’

    video

The House of Representatives just passed the health care bill with a vote of 219 to 212. Fox News news analyst Charles Krauthammer set up the moment quite prosaically. "This is a historic moment. This is the moment I think America changes. I don't think it will ever end up being repealed. There's no way it could happen before 2013. I think its unlikely to happen anytime at all. In terms of debt it will be huge..."

According to MSNBC's Luke Russert, pro-life Democrat Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), who held out until the last minute for more restrictive language on federal funding for abortion, was called a "baby-killer" as he spoke on the House floor tonight. The video of the report after the jump.
