Justin Bieber: “I Don’t Really Believe In Abortion”

Young singing superstar Justin Bieber opined on some very adult topics in the new edition of Rolling Stone, providing his thoughts on everything from abortion to sex and politics. After also having his songs featured on this week’s episode of the Fox hit Glee, being all over the Grammy Awards and doing impressions of presidents, is there anything the 16 year-old Canadian kid can’t do?

Bieber tells Rolling Stone “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them.” Where his comments get much more controversial though are on the issues of abortion and universal healthcare. Bieber declares, “I really don’t believe in abortion . . . It’s like killing a baby?” And Bieber isn’t even sure about making an exception for rape, “Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”

Although just in case conservatives start to swoon too much over Bieber for this pro-life stance, Bieber has a position to keep liberals happy too, suggesting “Canada’s the best country in the world” for having universal healthcare, while America is evil for making its citizens “broke because of medical bills.” Hey if this whole singing career thing doesn’t work out, maybe the kid has a future in politics?

We’ll see him running the tea party in a few decades.

  • Jackyboy

Regardless of his position, it is really hard to take a guy who sounds like puberty escaped him seriously. Sorry.

    Smart statement.

I don’t like abortion, nor do I like people getting broke because they fall ill. It’s not about co vs libs silly, use your common sense and decide, don’t be a dummy that just follow others.

When you’re sixteen, your positions and philosophies are still being formed.
Ask him the same questions in a few years, it’d be interesting to chart his journey.

It’ll be interesting to see how much blowback he gets from the right and left wingnuts.

Don’t worry kid! Unlike Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy or Jesus, Abortion isn’t something you need believe in since it’s actually real and legal. I do agree with your stance on single payer though. Something else that’s real at least in Canada.

  • Nacho

I’m going to stop buying his albums.

  • The_Reasonable_Lib

What a coincidence, Justin. Your psychotic groupie fans who threaten people with death because they think you’re dating them don’t believe in abortion either.

Box of Rox, I’m quite certain if you would like to move to Canada, we could come up with the funds to help you out.

Yeah, because the Tea Party’s all about implementing universal healthcare. Really smart statements by both of you.

Sounds like somebody needs a nap. LOL

  • Gasket

He’s a f*cking kid. Why ask him such controversial & polarizing questions?

  • Sean68

    Now he must be destroyed.

  • stoogedudes

Great… now I won’t be able to get this out of my head:

“You shouldn’t abort a baby, baby, baby, oh…”

My cubicle neighbor at work was playing his music on her computer and the song stuck in my head all damned day…and now the rest of you shall suffer with me! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

So he says 1) he doesn’t believe in abortion, and 2) he thinks American health care is evil.

Personally, I think this is a win-win. He’s pissed off liberals and conservatives in the same interview, so now we can all come together in the shared belief that Justin Bieber needs to just go away.

  • reddogs

Any bets he’ll change his mind when he gets a girl pregnant and doesn’t want to marry her?

Justin, you’re a 16 year old boy, FCS. When you are able to conceive, your opinion will matter. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. Try to be more Jodie Foster and less Leif Garrett. That’s enough for you to deal with just now.

Forgot one last piece of advice. Don’t believe in abortion? Don’t have one.

  • potvin

Left-wing America: “Doesn’t believe in abortion? Well that does it. Justin Bieber must be destroyed.”

  • Sleestak

It’s annoying that Bieber Fever isn’t covered under my health care plan.
