In Dr. Drew’s HLN Debut, Sammy Hagar Describes ‘Extraterrestrial Encounter’
And you thought Dr. Drew only talked about addiction. Ha! In tonight’s HLN debut of Dr. Drew, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar talks about rock and roll, relationships–and his encounter with extraterrestrials. “Call me crazy all you want,” Hagar says. “Anyone who says there’s no one in this whole universe, we’re the only ones? That’s crazy.” And Dr. Drew gets that, though he says he remains “skeptical of the guys in the white light.”
As for the encounter, which Hagar has written about in his book Red, the rocker says “I’m dreaming, I see these guys in my head.” They were “beams of light,” he says, and “they were kind of blue.”
In the interview, which airs tonight at 9 p.m. on HLN, Hagar also talks about his painful separation from Van Halen (who’s your favorite, Hagar or David Lee Roth?) and the collapse of his friendship with Eddie Van Halen.
