I don’t wish to minimize the rape allegations.  Unfortunately, men often commit rape.  When you consider the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people living in tent cities, and many of those people are homeless (because Occupy doesn’t discriminate against them for being homeless and/or mentally ill), I’m surprised there weren’t more sexual assault allegations.  I’d bet that the incidence of sexual assault is well below the rate among the general population.

I am very familiar with the Occupy Oakland shooting.  The person who was murdered was an occasional attendee who visited a relative who was part of the encampment.  He was murdered by two men who had no association at all with Occupy Oakland.  Oakland is, unfortunately, the site of many hundreds of shootings and murders every year.  Why would this particular one be used to discredit Occupy Oakland?
