Nearly Five Million Viewers Visit SPAlaska, Breaking TLC Premiere Record
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Sarah Palin‘s new reality show, became the most watched premiere ever in TLC history, with nearly five millino viewers.
Here are some more details about the widely-promoted, much-discussed first show:
The show had 4,960,000 total viewers, while bringing in 1.8 million in the A25-54 demographic. It was the best premiere ever for the network, beating What Not To Wear‘s 2003 debut.
As THRFeed.com, it’s not close to the best ratings ever on TLC:
TLC has hit bigger numbers over the years for non-premiere episodes, with Jon & Kate Plus Eight pulling about 10 million for one episode during the peak of its tabloid headlines.
Will the numbers hold? Like most shows, you could expect some ratings decline. But it isn’t like most shows – sometimes (Jersey Shore for example), the ratings increase thanks to heavy buzz, which this show certainly has.
