O’Reilly: Low Approval Ratings Among Muslims Strange When Obama Is ‘Coddling The Muslim World’

video

President Barack Obama‘s mideast speech today riled up many on the right for what they considered his heavy hand on Israel, but tonight Bill O’Reilly highlighted a parallel trend to his disapproval from the right: his approval ratings among Muslims appear to be in decline as well. Given that O’Reilly characterizes his foreign policy as “coddling the Muslim world,” he found the phenomenon difficult to explain, and asked Muslim commentators to weigh in.

O’Reilly shot down most of the arguments that both commentators made for why Muslims outside of the US may feel uncomfortable with the President’s current foreign policy. The first, Kamal Nawash, president of the Free Muslims coalition, argued that much of it was relative deprivation after having an “irrational exuberance in what [Obama] is going to do,” and a believe that the Obama administration would “respect their sovereignty,” particularly in the Pakistani mission to kill Osama bin Laden. O’Reilly rebutted that quickly, arguing that “if we ask [to enter Pakistan], they tip off the terrorists.” Nawash, a bit surprised by the outrage, noted that he was merely answering the question, to which O’Reilly jokingly replied “yes, I deserve to be scolded by you” and explained that he was “a little frustated because it’s insane.”

As for Muslims in America, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser argued that they may be dismayed by the soft language of the Obama administration, arguing that more Reaganesque rhetoric would do Obama good in the polls. “It is time for an administration that can call an evil administration evil,” highlighting the work Reagan did with the Soviet Union. This argument was a bit more down O’Reilly’s alley, though he did conclude that he believed radical Muslims were terrorizing a majority into silence, which drove some ratings.

Muslims don’t trust or respect a weak man , and King Obama is as weak as it gets .

He turns on America’s friends on a regular basis . The enemies remain enemies and the former friends no longer trust you .

The next President has a lot of cleaning up to do .

    We all know it .

  • catfishjuggling

Makes sense. His health care reform was basically the Republican plan for years yet 0% of those guys like him either.

    Wait.

    Muslins don’t like him.

Yahoos on here don’t like him.

Ergo, the nutcases on here are Muslim.

(It’s no more stupid than most of the crap you hillbillies post.)

We have no need to interact any further,

  • Paleoconservatarian

Maybe he hasn’t apologized to them enough.

The Muslim countries around the world don’t need any more of our foreign aide money or military ‘assistance.’ They need to internalize our ideas on modernity and freedom – true freedom, and not simply the absence of a corrupt, abusive political leadership. With the former, we buy temporary restraint from the actions of the anti-western ideologies they foster and the terrorist organizations they harbor. With the latter, we’d have no need for the former. Why is anyone surprised government hand-outs has only engendered bad behavior and a class of ‘allies’ interested in little more than eliciting further handouts via threats that even worse outcomes would occur should the money train stop? In almost every other instance, this is the inevitable end product of all government handouts – the desire to not fix the problem the handout was meant to address but the impulse to perpetuate the problem in the pursuit of more unearned dough.

Zuhdi Jasser is absolutely correct. We need an administration that can articulate the stark ideological divisions of the world, who gives moral strength to the forces of moderation within the Islamic sphere and not one who attempts to mitigate the problem of Muslim hostility to the non-Muslim world through studied ignorance. Muslim supremacism exists, and is reinforcing itself with each passing moment it remains unchallenged. Evil intent doesn’t go away if you don’t acknowledge it or attempt to placate it. It only grows stronger.

Right. I dislike him because he has failed as President. Given the choice I had, I voted for him over McCain. And I would again.

But, again, you crazy people will likely nominate a person even worse than Obama.

Give me Daniels or someone of his ilk, I will vote for him.

But here is the difference between rationalville and you people.

And both your personalities feel that all of those problems would have been fixed by President McCain? You are aware we don’t vote in a vacuum. You have a choice of one or the other.

    Quick puzzler for you:

Who would you vote for in 2012? The candidate who passed universal health care that paid for abortions and who passed civil unions for gay people or the one who did neither? This one intrigues me. Because of Governor Romney is the nominee, he has a record that is far more liberal than Obama’s. Yet, I imagine you’d vote for him over Obama.

I happen to live in a state whose two Democratic senators are far more conservative than say, Scott Brown or Olympia Snowe. So what do you do with that? Pull for the R, just because.

You are simply not a serious person. Hell, I’m not a serious person. The only reason I am even on this stupid site is I’m up with a sick kid and am riding the waves between when she wakes up.

The simple answer is….most conservatives that come to this site that DID vote, didn’t vote for McCain. We voted for Palin. And we’ll do it again. Happily. Now, you may go ask Juarez his thoughts on the matter OR you could go snuggle with your sick child. The choice seems simple between those two.

Oooooh you live in a state with 2 democratic senators. What’s your point? They still voted for the worst piece of legislation. All that keeps me going is knowing that when history is told, Obama will go down as the most divisive and unsuccessful President in history. That’s something that race can’t fix. I wish it could. I had hope for him at the beginning.

As for who I’d vote for in 2012, I’ve mentioned multiple names. Including the one you mentioned above. However, the press will come after him so I don’t see him having the manhood to put up with the personal attacks. Therefore, your candidate appears weak.

This may be the dumbest of all the dumb things you have ever typed.

If the Republican is going to win in 2012 then people like me who voted for Obama are going to have to vote for the Republicans. It is pure math.

I am assuming your very impresive Masters was not in math?

    ‘Obama is a failed presidency’

‘I would vote for Obama again’

Make no mistake, many of the left never learn from their mistakes – and such is why the Democratic party has only grown more corrupt and unrepresentative over time. The typical Republican would stay home rather than support what they felt was a failed presidency or support the continuation of a failed governing philosophy, as happened in 2008 (I might suggest they vote on occasion for a 3rd party or write-in as another option, but they remain typical Republicans). Such is why the Republican party renewed itself. It was punished by the people and became responsive to their demands.

The only true debate in the country is within the Republican party – whether to chart a more libertarian course, follow a socially conservative path, to return to neo-conservative values or to what degree they should compromise with many aspects of unchanging Democratic ideas and stagnant Democratic policies.

That is because you live in an echo chamber instead of the real world. A lot of people looked at how screwed up things were and looked at their options and picked Obama.

A shitload of Republicans voted for Obama. William F. Buckley’s son voted for him.

The fact that he hasn’t delivered doesn’t mean those people got their choice wrong. I had no skin the Democratic nomination process. So I chose a calm, thoughtful guy over an erratic guy without a clear message. Until you can get that through your thick skull I have nothing.

Obama did not create this pile of crap we’re in. You could reasonably argue that he has made it worse, but we have seen going down this path since Reagan. And it exploded BEFORE Obama was elected. You guys are so blinded by not liking the guy that you surrender from reality.

I really don’t care if you believe me about my politics. You and I could pass on the street and not realize it. It is just stupid people talking on the internet.

He’s not an Indy, he’s an embarassed Democrat, who will wake up on election day, put on his spongebob slippers and shuffle down to the election precinct and blindly pull the lever for Obama. Obama has his vote no matter what, and he knows it. That’s why he craps all over them on a daily basis by starting random wars, and sucking up to corporations.

Asses like you are the reason I am not a Republican anymore. Can you point to me any Repulican administration that hasn’t grown government? Any of them that have balanced the books? Neither Bush (the elder of whom I voted for twice). Not St. Reagan (who I voted for the 2nd time–too young the 1st). Not Nixon or Ford.

Democrats may be the tax and spend party but Republicans are the borrow and spend party. There is nothing about my politics that has changed in 30 years. But the two parties sure have. What Obama is doing now is about in line with Bush 41. (This is the point where you say he was a librul anyway).

You tough guy talkers have this idea that anyone who would vote for a Democrat is a French tutu wearing wimp. Yet every time the Republicans are in charge the screw it up.

Bubbles under Clinton. Bubbles under Bush. There is no difference. But as a guy who could car less about all the social crap that throws you wingnuts into fits I was forced to vote for Obama. Hell, the guy who’ll get the Republican nominee in Romney could be a guy who passed universal health care with abortion coverage and gay civil unions (which is more left than Obama), nut if he is nominated YOU”LL line up and vote for him without question.

said the guy is a failed President. And that makes me a Democrat?

So live in your dream world.

    Bite me.

Hey Rio you guys got a little upset when Obama bowed to one of those guys, you would have had a stroke if Obama had kissed one and held his hand, that my point.

    WCin WI says:

Anyone that voted for Obama did so either on racial guilt or stupidity.

A third option is they are uninformed. My in-laws (who I adore) are conservative, but voted for him because they bought into the “hope and change”. I can’t tell you how sorry they are for it now. Believe me, I don’t let them forget it and tease them about it often. They won’t make the mistake again.

No strokes for me, kissing is custom over there and, I didn’t and I wouldn’t get the least bit upset, like I said, there’s a reason “all” presidents coddle to that guy. If Saudia Arabia is taken over by the radical arm of the Saudi family we’re in big trouble and now, Obama appears to be doing an about face, bows early on and then persues policies that enflame the region.

He’s royaly screwing things up over there, his speech yesterday was like music to the the dark Prince’s ears, could make life miserable for the good guys. Could also encourage our Saudi friends to mess around with drilling, lower output, higher profits. Remember, the method they use to keep their people from turning to the extreme is to buy them off and we will pay for that at least once a week.

BTW, interesting that you immediately bring up Obama’s bow,…after the fact. Perhaps you didn’t think about that when posting the…..ahem….”gotcha” photos of Bush coddling the same guy.

  • insideguy

These friends of ours the Saudi Princes are you freaking serious? They are scum, women have no rights instant capital punishment they are from the dark ages. The only thing they do is keep the “dark forces under control”. Go ahead move there see ow great the Saudi royal family is what a joke.

You never belonged to the Republican party. Stop the charade, sissypants.

Every complaint you have against the Republicans is perfectly valid, until you turn around and embrace the other party, which manages, somehow, to be worse.

Did you vote for Obama because of the crease in his pants, or because of a thrill that went up your leg when you heard him speak?

Muslim country’s are heavily male dominated, and as such they see Obimbo as weak and ineffectual. His “bend-over tour” achieved just the opposite of what he was trying to accomplish. His obvious pandering is repulsive to people who see it as less than manly. But you really don’t have to live in a Muslim country to see Obimbo as a weak, sniveling, inept narcissist, do you?

President Obama’s speech really wowed me at first because he went so far as to dare to bring up the refugee problem, which I had been led to believe even the Palestinians had given up on. It’s funny how biased America is in favor of Israel. From an Arab perspective, it turns out the speech was incredibly insensitive to the disproportionate suffering and injustices against the Palestinians. And yet with that, Netanyahu rips Obama a new one like the NRA did to George Bush for daring to support legislation that would make it harder for terrorists to get firearms. Good times await.

The best answer is for Joradan to “annex” the land occupied by the Palestinians. Maybe the Egyptians can step up too. But then they’ll have to tear down their border fences.

Also, I’m curious, does the Arab perspective include Hamas, Iran, etc in the equation?
