On Hannity, Sarah Palin Sounds Sharper Than Ever On Immigration Reform

video

There is only one aspect of politics, empirically, that Sarah Palin knows about: being the CEO of a state. So it shouldn’t be surprising to listen to her sound knowledgeable explaining Jan Brewer‘s decision to pass a controversial immigration law in Arizona on last night’s Hannity, but compared to the folksy buzzword soup she usually cooks up, this was conservative policy at its finest.

Who knew the governor had it in her? I didn’t. But last night she proved that her two years in office didn’t pass in vain, and that she does know a thing or two about borders and the Tenth Amendment. Aside from some eyeroll-inducing references to the “lamestream” media, Palin was crystal clear about the implications of the Arizona bill– “there is no opportunity in there for racial profiling,” the federal government is often frustratingly slow at responding to state emergencies– and the fact that, as the CEO of a state, Brewer had a decision to make, and she chose to work against the Mexican drug cartels, unpopular as that may be in San Francisco. She backed up her eloquent points with experience and facts and appeared formidable in her discussion.

Unfortunately, Sean Hannity didn’t let her continue talking about the things she knows, so it didn’t last. Instead, Hannity drew her back to what made her so polarizing in the first place: her constant attacks on the mainstream media institution in which she is now a multi-million dollar mogul. Calling Joe Klein a “piece of work” for labeling her and her media empire “seditious,” she noted that it “discredits Time Magazine” to still have Klein around at all after those comments.

Her two-segment Hannity appearance below:

On the right, they love free speech, however, anyone disagreeing with them should be fired.

That’s encouraging. Of course, it is a very low standard.

DOGA is beginning to get really boring. What are Douchey and the Gretch up to this morning?

RRK live and works in Texas. He travels the world. He must have a good income. The fact that he is a loon of the left indicates he has a very serious problem. His abillity to understand the common person is lacking.

  • The Real Royal King

Good morning, Blower. That reminds me of the fictional character, Sir Reginald Pantyshield, who said, “I don’t have any problem with common people, it is merely that there are so many of them.”

  • The_Reasonable_Lib

    So let me get this straight, Bloyer;
Obama who grew up poor and worked his way to the top doesn’t understand the common people, but Sarah palin who quits every office she’s ever held, tries to get books banned and doesn’t even know why north and south korea are different does? Obama has flaws and is open about them, Palin consistently plays the victim. But wait, isn’t that what the left does?
Btw, props to sarah palin’s writers

  • The_Reasonable_Lib

Besides Bloyer, we all know that the only reason you like Palin is that she gives you that special feeling below your suspenders, deep down in your jogging suit.

The right didn’t fire that schmuck, GEICO did. Bitch to GEICO.

    and:

The unreasonable lib says “Obama who grew up poor and worked his way to the top” is absolute bullshit. He didn’t grow up poor, he grew up being handed everything. He’s never had a frickin’ job in his life.

  • valkyrie101

    timzank,
No, I was not talking about Geico, but the last line of the above story referencing what Palin said. :
“Calling Joe Klein a “piece of work” for labeling her and her media empire “seditious,” she noted that it “discredits Time Magazine” to still have Klein around at all after those comments.”,

Here is a fact, libertarianism and evangelical Christian do not see eye to eye on civil rights, and besides banning abortion, gay marriage, porn, and putting prayer back in school, or Lord knows, praise His name, what else (though thankfully not taking away the right to carry guns), they are too keen on bridging that nasty gap between church and state. Palin is no libertarian. She is a FOX in sheep’s clothing. :-)

  • roxsteady

Palin is a moron. Clearly someone fed her the bullshit she spewed. As soon as the topic changed she reverted back to who she is. An idiot who was a half term govenor of a state of 6,000 people. Oh, and Obama was did not get anything handed to him and you pathetic sore losers should get over it! Keep cheering for stupid people and you end up with George Bush. A man who could NOT have gotten into Yale without his father.

What? Isn’t someone going to comment on my typo? What the hell is this site coming to? The Obama derangement syndrome is apparently spreading. Which causes incoherent arguments, countless talking points and not so subtle dog whistles! Seek help!

Minister Royal loves the common people, as long as they aren’t white. Then let those insults and stereotypes fly! (Yes, King. Yoke of oppression, sting of discrimination, etc., etc.)

  • News Hounds Ellen

Knowledgeable? You thought she sounded knowledgeable? She only discussed one aspect of the AZ bill, and that was by talking about what’s supposedly not in it: racial profiling – despite the fact that experts say it will lead to exactly that. All she really talked about was attacking Obama on what SHE obviously thought were cogent comments about the Tenth Amendment.

How can you call “knowledgeable,” this statement from her: “This isn’t fair to the legal immigrants. It’s not fair to illegal immigrants, either, who do want to, many of them want to come over here and find that pathway to citizenship. They, wanting to seek the right way to get over here. This is, is allowing them, though, a disopportunity. They’re going to have to hide while they’re here. They’re not going to be able to seize the opportunities that they sought coming over here. So it’s a lose-lose proposal all around for President Obama and his administration to ignore their responsibility and not enforce the laws that are existing.” Was she talking about the Arizona law? The federal law? Did she even know which law she was talking about?

I’m willing to bet she could not discuss three particulars of the AZ law and compare them to three points of the federal law, even with hand notes.

“Besides Bloyer, we all know that the only reason you like Palin is that she gives you that special feeling below your suspenders, deep down in your jogging suit.”

I think its the opposite. I think most of Palin hate comes from the guys who were ignored by the popular cheerleaders in high school and the gals who were ignored in favor of the popular cheerleaders.

And of course there is that general disdain by men and women alike against successful women.

  • valkyrie101

Here is the hilarious part: the fundamentalist Christian right, which considers sex an abomination, are Palin’s main constituents. I remember a few years ago that crowd condemning the Miss America pageant, right along side the feminists, becuase it glorified the almost nude body and was ultimately sinful. Fortunately for Palin, along the way, someone layed hands on her and now she is better.

So should I start making fun of Obama supporters who are against drug use now?

  • valkyrie101

Here is the the banger: a) close, or at least greatly strengthen border security; b) Issue working visas to all illegals residing in the U.S. (but presumably not to illegals who have a serious criminal record); c) Legalize weed. Most of the violence that is happening in Mexico, and on our border, relates to fights over a share of the billions of dollars of U.S. weed business. Chicago, 1920s style. Legalize weed, get a government share of the profits through tax revenue, make law abiding citizens out of most of the college population, and pull the rug out from under the “mafia” element that controls Mexican weed smuggling.

  • valkyrie101

Who would also strongly oppose legalizing weed? The law enforcement crowd, since tens of billions of U.S. dollars goes toward enforcement of the current weed laws.

Obama who grew up poor and worked his way to the top doesn’t understand the common people,

Didn’t Palin also grow up poor, and has clearly worked her way to the top. Similarity #1.

but Sarah palin who quits every office she’s ever held,

Who held her Governor position for just about as much time as Obama held his Senate seat… no? Similarity #2.

    …tries to get books banned…

    Lie.

She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a “What if?” question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin’s first term.

    Fact Check

…and doesn’t even know why north and south korea are different does?

An unsubstantiated claim, denied by the Palin camp:

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin (R) said Tuesday night that it was “a lie” that she didn’t know the difference between North Korea and South Korea during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Palin dismissed that and other assertions in a new book that reviews the presidential race as “gossipy anonymous accusations.”

    ROK Drop

Obama has flaws and is open about them,

    An example perhaps?

    …Palin consistently plays the victim.

Especially when she’s getting unfairly attacked. I guess it would be much easier if she let others lie about her… but oh well.

But wait, isn’t that what the left does?

Gee… It’s good thing we haven’t heard things like: “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, ‘seditious’, and so on” when the left “complains” about the right.

Btw, props to sarah palin’s writers

Now if only they could get her to use a teleprompter, all things would be even.
