Remember when Arlen Specter demanded investigations into the NFL after “Spygate?”

Despite my libertarian leanings, and while I agree about Spygate, I do think it’ll take legislation to get a college football playoff, and I am all for it. They’re public institutions, and it’s the right thing to do.

Reminds me of the many times I have driven to work, only to learn that work was called off because the weather was too bad to bring people in. Huh? So why was I there? Wusses.

Well, some are public, but most aren’t. Either way, I think the playoff idea is good, but I also think our government has better things to worry about.

Thank goodness his term is almost up. Cause Governor Rendell done lost his mind! First off ‘Fast Eddie,’ let’s think about the dozens of lawyers that would sue the City of Philadelphia and the state if someone went to the game and got run over by a snow plow driven by some unaware, uneducated city employee that wants to get the job done and go home with no concern with other human existence. You’d see lawsuits in the millions. Then think of some drunk fan slipping and falling at the Linc. Yeah, Eddie, more lawsuits and now you’ve got Lincoln Financial, the NFL and the city along with the state all liable. Yes getting back to those lawyers. Finally, since no one would have actually gone out to the game on such an awful night, think of the revenue lost by the Eagles, the city and the state from concessions. Hundreds of thousands of dollars would have been lost by the city, a city that’s currently broke along with a state that’s broke as well. Oh yeah, that’s right Eddie, you ran the state in to the ground during your eight years as Governor. Let’s all remind ourselves of the fact that this complaining clown of a public servant spent so much tax money that Pennsylvania now has a Republican taking over the state after eight years of Democratic ruin.

Ed Rendell needs to call it quits completely. He’s too old school. The game should have been canceled for all the above reasons of liability, period. And he is definitely old school and beyond any further political involvement if he doesn’t understand that. Which it seems he doesn’t. We live in a litigious society Eddie. Never forget that.
