Rep. Gohmert Announces on Fox & Friends He Will Challenge Boehner as Speaker
Declaring “it’s time for a change,” Representative Louis Gohmert (R-TX) took to Fox & Friends Weekend, that hallowed megaphone of political ambitions, to declare his opposition to Representative John Boehner (R-OH) for Speaker of the House.
“A poll came out Friday saying 60% or more of the Republicans in the country that voted in the last election, including independents who voted Republican, they want a change,” Gohmert said. “They want a different speaker.”
Gohmert promised more conservative policies that would be less pliant to the administration, and vowed to depart from Boehner’s tyrannical ways.
“We’ll get back to appropriating and go through regular committee process, so everybody, every representative from both parties will have a chance to participate in the process and not have a dictator running things,” he said.
