Scarlett Johansson Wiretapper Christopher Chaney Comes Clean To Florida Station
Christopher Chaney, the 35 year-old Jacksonville resident who was arrested on Wednesday for hacking into the accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, and Mila Kunis, has been kind enough to spill his guts to WAWS in Jacksonville, meaning everyone writing about him no longer has to remember to put “allegedly” from in front of his crimes.
The man dubbed “Hackerazzi” by authorities says he had no intention of selling the photos, and viewed the steady stream of celebrity emails as more of an uncensored blog than a money-making opportunity. He apologized for exploiting the “little sliver of privacy” that celebrities have left, and claims he became addicted to the reading of emails. Chaney expressed relief when authorities confiscated his computer over six months ago because, “I didn’t know how to stop doing it myself.”
When asked by WAWS how it all began — who was the Monkey X of his celebrity hacking — he genuinely seemed not to recall:
“Honestly, I don’t even remember how or when it started…or with who it started. It just happened and snowballed.”
