Stephen Colbert Ends His ‘Relationship’ With Herman Cain After Cain Cancels His Appearance

Video

Stephen Colbert has now been “left at the altar” one too many times by Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain and he’s had enough! Colbert admits he was a big fan of Cain, but now that Cain has twice canceled his scheduled appearance on The Colbert Report, Colbert has found a new Republican presidential candidate to be “his man” and it’s the one and only Buddy Roemer. And as soon as Colbert confirms what Roemer looks like, he’ll be ready to enjoy his “rebound.”

Part of Cain’s initial appeal to Colbert was his “Herman Cain Train” campaign video, since it was much catchier than the “Step On In To The Ron Paul Shower Stall.” Yet after this latest cancellation, Colbert feels very much like a jilted lover:

“Herman Cain I am not some pizza crust you can just leave on your plate and move on to a hotter slice. You know what Herman, you can’t cancel on me because I’m canceling you.”

Cain cancelled because of a scheduling conflict, yet that didn’t stop Colbert from concluding “I’m beginning to think, and I never thought I would say this, Herman Cain might not be the next President of the United States.” The bridge back to Colbert’s heart might not be burned forever though, as Colbert later looked off-camera and longingly wondered, “Did Herman call?” Therefore, never fear, it seems that all hope is not yet lost for the possibility of a Cain-Colbert showdown.

Why anyone would give Colbert the time of day is above my pay grade for sure!!

Stephen Colbert has lost it.  I think his brain has turned into ‘the pizza crust on his plate’…lol  There’s nothing worse than an old man trying to be popular with the younger generation by acting like a fool.  I’m embarrassed for you and your fans, Stephen Colbert.

Colbert is a clown for the left. What could Cain possibly have to gain by appearing with him?

  • Limpbaals

What a noob, it looks like Herman Cain will go back to making his shitty pizzas that I’m sure violate all sorts of  ordinances and statutes. Seriously who does what he does, book then cancel? I wanted to see him on and give his ideas a good listen but if he can’t deal with a comedian/character actor, then what the hell is he wasting everyone’s time with his obviously stupid campaign?

Cowardly people book and cancel on whim, no one else.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

     Indeed, his pizzas are dreadful.

  • Moosenuts99

Lost it? Acting the fool for a younger generation?

It must be embarrassing to have no sense of humor, or any grasp on anything smartly written and performed.

  • Exgoper

Colbert was the perfect venue for Cain. The fact that anyone would take Cain’s candidacy seriously was a joke in itself.

Colbert will eventually get the hint that he is NOT respected as a news mogul and should stick to slap stick comedy.

Herman Cain talks a good game, but no substance.  Was he afraid to come on Colbert? Then stop saying he was. Our GOP candidates lack guts, commitment, and ready to take on anything for their Party.  Cluck, cluck.

Of all the Republican candidates, Stewart and Colbert have really focused alot of their attacks on the only Black Republican candidate.

    What’s up with that?

Don’t you read between the lines? They’re secretly racist.

  • http://twitter.com/TommyBennett Tom Bennett

Humor has been lost on the reactionary for all of history.

    Clearly…racist, straight up!

  • adler56

Then why schedule an appearance twice? Just stupid i guess. A pizza maker for president and he’s not even Italian- just dumber than a rock.

    Spoken like a true racist.

You make a lot sense, much like Republican politics.

btw, i watch their shows almost everyday.  Last episode that remotely mentioned cain was made like… 2 weeks ago? Palin and Bachmann make for much better material.

  • Ladybug_888

yeah I dont know what is happening to his show either,he is getting silly and Y?? First thing U know his show will be canceled if he keeps up his nonsense. When he went before congress was so so stupid I can’t believe they would even bother with him.Grow up Colbert and change your platform. YOUR so SILLY

No. Not racist. Just another paranoid conservative looking to fight back.

    Wimp? No way!

I’d say the opposite, but that’s not a good thing in his case.

Gee, I don’t know. Maybe winning over hearts and minds? But somebody probably showed Cain an episode of the Report and he quickly ascertained that he’d be completely in over his head.

Cain is an idiot and idiocy is colorblind.

I wanted to see more of Uncle Ruckus in the cowboy hat and country music.  I wonder if the good ol’ boys will think he’s one of them.

Adler, if you had half the brains of Mr. Cain and were not so racist, you might be proud of yourself.

lets just call this for what it is, you can love or hate colber but the fact is he’s one of the most quick witted and smart individuals working tv and if you don’t bring your A game you’ll get turned into a laughing stock

Simple truth, Cain didn’t want to put in the effort
