Rachel Maddow Gags While Recounting Testimony About Trump Claiming Stormy Daniels ‘Wanted Him More Than’ NFL Star

Rachel Maddow rehashed some of Michael Cohen’s testimony at Donald Trump’s criminal trial on Monday, culminating in the MSNBC host making a gagging noise while relaying a story the witness told on the stand.

The former president faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to cover up extramarital affairs. Prosecutors say Cohen – then Trump’s attorney – was reimbursed by Trump, who arranged the payments. Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges and denies the affairs.

Cohen, who went to prison over the payments he made, testified on direct examination and told the court being Trump’s lawyer for 10 years was “an amazing experience” – for a time – and claimed his former client did not care if Melania Trump were to leave him.

Cohen also testified about the time the alleged tryst between Trump and Daniels occurred, at a hotel room in Lake Tahoe during a golf event in 2006. The event was attended by then-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who made a cameo in Cohen’s testimony:

Also, why did prosecutors go out of their way to point out that Ben Roethlisberger – the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback had been at the golf event with Donald Trump at the time of the Trump-Stormy Daniels sex– alleged sexual encounter?

Now we know. Contrary to Trump’s denials that he had sex with Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen testified today that when he asked Donald Trump if anything had happened between him and Stormy Daniels, Trump bragged to Michael Cohen that, yeah, even though he was there at this golf event with Big Ben Roethlisberger, the women there – like Stormy Daniels – they wanted him more than they wanted Big Ben. Aaaaack!

Trump faces criminal charges in three other jurisdictions. In all, he has pleaded not guilty to 88 counts.
