‘Factually Incorrect’: News Anchor Halts Dem Socialist After Claiming Israel Committed ‘Genocide’ in Gaza

Democratic socialist candidate for Congress Oliver Larkin clashed with a local news anchor after he accused Israel of committing a “genocide” in Gaza during a Sunday interview.

This Week in South Florida host Glenna Milberg jumped in right after Larkin made the claim and told him, “That’s incorrect, that’s factually incorrect. That’s propaganda.”

“It has been regarded by the United Nations and Amnesty International and even Israeli human rights organizations including B’Tselem, there’s a number—” Larkin started to respond, before Milberg halted him again.

“The definition of genocide, and the UN has said this, does not apply to what many people might think as a disproportionate war time action. That’s what that is, in many people’s minds,” Milberg said. “Genocide is a very specific thing — actually, genocide being committed against Jewish people, not by Israel. And that’s just a fact.”

Both Milberg and Larkin were kind of right and kind of wrong about their United Nations claim. A UN-appointed independent commission accused Israel of committing a genocide last year, but the UN as an organization has not called it that.

Larkin then responded by saying the UN found Israeli troops “deliberately targeted women and children” and military leaders had conducted “indiscriminate bombing” on hospitals, among other claims of depravity.

“Again, I’m going to have to stop you again, as that is factually not correct,” Milberg told Larkin. The interview wrapped up a moment later.

Their exchange on Israel comes as Larkin has been making the media rounds over the last week, as he aims to unseat incumbent Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) in Florida’s 25th Congressional district.

The 34-year-old irritated Fox News anchor Sean Hannity last week when he refused to give a straight answer on how much he wanted to tax Americans to fund his socialist agenda, with Hannity shouting at him, “Give me a number!” Hannity never got it, though.

Larkin returned to the channel a few days later and got into a similar argument, with correspondent Lisa Boothe branding him the “living definition” of a spoiled kid who attends posh private schools and grows up with “great privilege”… only to turn into a Marxist politician who demands citizens pay for a bunch of government-funded programs.
