Biden Rips Trump Republicans And ‘Really Really Dumb’ Climate Deniers At Extreme Weather Briefing

President Joe Biden tore into former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies, and everyone who denies climate change as “stupid” and “really really dumb.”

On Tuesday afternoon, President Biden received an operational briefing on extreme weather at the D.C. Emergency Operations Center, and gave brief remarks in which he announced new actions to protect workers and families from the impacts of extreme weather.

Mayor Muriel Bowser (D-DC) and Acting Director Clint Osborn of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency also spoke.

During his speech, the president ripped Trump and Republicans in Congress for vowing to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, which he calls “the biggest climate protection bill ever” — and called climate deniers either “really really dumb” or possessing other motives:

Unfortunately, my predecessor and the MAGA Republicans in Congress are trying to undo all this progress.

They still deny climate change even exists. They deny climate change even exists. They must be living in a hole somewhere.

At the expense of health and safety of their own constituents, they deny it exists.

Every single congressional Republican voted against the investments which created these jobs and combat climate change. Many of them are trying to repeal those climate provisions and kill those jobs.

I quite frankly think it’s not only outrageous, it’s really stupid! Everyone who willfully denies the impacts of climate change is condemning the American people to a dangerous future, and either is really, really dumb or has some other motive.

How can you deny this climate change, for God’s sake?

Let me close with this. When disaster strikes, there are no red states or blue states. I’ve demonstrated that. I said, no matter whether you vote for me or not, everyone is going to get treated fairly. There are just communities, not red communities, blue communities, or– just communities. Families looking for help. And my administration’s going to be there for you every step of the way.
