CNN Airs Trump Voter Blurting That Biden Has ‘Alzheimer’s’ — Reporter Calls False Charge ‘Speculation’
CNN correspondent Gary Tuchman told a Trump voter who said President Joe Biden “probably has Alzheimer’s” that the charge was “speculation” when in fact it is false, according to a medical exam conducted last week.
The president made a previously unannounced stop at Walter Reed last Thursday for his annual physical, which showed little change from his last physical, and included a neurological exam that showed no impairment.
But on Wednesday’s edition of CNN News Central, Tuchman ignored those facts when a member of his Wisconsin focus group blurted out the attack that has been pushed by former President Donald Trump and others amid concerns about the president’s age.
Tuchman referred to the charge as “speculation” instead of a falsehood but did point out that both Biden and Trump are prone to misspeaking:
GARY TUCHMAN: We’ve been asking in Poland– in polling today. Is he fit to be president if he’s convicted of a felony. What do you think? Who’s another one of our Trump supporters who wants to answer the question? What do you think?
TRUMP VOTER: I do.
GARY TUCHMAN: And why do you. That wouldn’t bother you if he was convicted of a felony being president?
TRUMP VOTER: It would bother me, but it would bother me more to vote for Biden.
GARY TUCHMAN: And why is that?
TRUMP VOTER: I just, I think when the press is saying things about him and what I see, too, that he’s incapable of speaking, that he probably has Alzheimer’s–
GARY TUCHMAN: Well, that– that’s speculation. But yes, he does make mistakes speaking but so does Donald Trump. Right?
TRUMP VOTER: Right.
GARY TUCHMAN: And that doesn’t bother you, though?
TRUMP VOTER: It’s not in the same way.
GARY TUCHMAN: Okay. Our Biden supporters raise your hand. Why Joe Biden?
BIDEN VOTER: Because I’m not worried that he’s not going to leave office.
GARY TUCHMAN: What does that mean?
BIDEN VOTER: I think that Trump may want to stay in the office or may make changes that– precludes his leaving. I’ll leave it at that.
