CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan Straight-Up Asks Pro-Trump Reporter At White House ‘Do You Consider Yourself A Journalist?’
Senior CNN correspondent Donie O’Sullivan straight-up asked a pro-Trump White House reporter “do you consider yourself a journalist?” in a new report on the surge of pro-MAGA personalities covering the Trump administration.
Since taking office or a second time, President Donald Trump and his press shop have reshaped the White House press to include an increasingly dominant cadre of pro-MAGA voices in the briefing room and in the press pool. The result has been widespread criticism of a “sycophantic” bent in questions asked at the White House.
In a new report, O’Sullivan visited the White House and interviewed Real America’s Voice Chief White House Correspondent Brian Glenn, LindellTV White House reporter Cara Castronuova, and Bannon’s War Room Co-Host and White House Correspondent Natalie Winters.
It was Winters who momentarily stunned O’Sullivan with her quick confident response when he asked if she considers herself a journalist:
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: Have the quote-unquote traditional reporters that are here been hostile to you at all?
NATALIE WINTERS: Well, I think they know better than to come after Natalie Winters in the war room posse, but it’s the looks, the eye-rolls, the conversations that I overhear.
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: They’re adjusting to life as part of the White House press corps. These big tents here is where you have CNN, ABC, the networks.
CARA CASTRANOVA: So we’re kind of off to the side, which is what a lot of alternate media is doing right now.
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: From the protocols.
CARA CASTRANOVA: There were times at the beginning when we’re standing kind of here, not realizing we’re in people shots.
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: To the snack selection.
CARA CASTRANOVA: And this is off topic. The vending machine is full of junk food and I am a big maha person. I almost ate a beef uh slim jim yesterday. I was desperate.
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: Do you consider yourself a journalist?
CARA CASTRANOVA: Yes.
(PAUSE)
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: Tell me–.
NATALIE WINTERS: (LAUGHS) Seems like you took a little pause to process that.
DONIE O’SULLIVAN: (LAUGHS) Yeah but– yeah but–
