Democrat Jasmine Crockett Mocks Disabled GOP Governor’s Wheelchair: ‘Governor Hot Wheels’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), the left-wing congresswoman who has been praised by progressives for her combative posture toward the Trump administration and Republicans more generally, mocked Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s (R) wheelchair in speech over the weekend.

On Saturday, Crockett delivered remarks at the Human Rights Campaign’s 2025 Los Angeles dinner.

Here’s what she had to say about Abbott:

We in these hot ass Texas streets, honey. Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, Come on now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot ass mess, honey! So, um, so yes! Yes, yes, yes.

Abbott became paralyzed below the waist after an oak tree fell on him while he was on a jog back in 1984. He was 26 years old.

Online, observers reacted to Crockett’s remarks.

“Th[e] Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has used a wheelchair since 1984 when he was tragically paralyzed in an accident. Today, the unquestioned leader of the Democratic Party, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, mocks him with the insult ‘Governor Hot Wheels,'” observed CNN’s Scott Jennings.

“This woman is trash,” commented Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk

“All class,” observed National Review‘s Dan McLaughlin.

“Crockett is what the Democratic base wants, but she’s the opposite of what the party needs,” he added.
