Drudge Features Hitler Image as Claims of Trump’s Nazi Praise Makes Headlines — Re-Ups Past ‘Blame the Jews’ Comment

The Drudge Report featured Nazi German dictator Adolf Hitler as its banner image Wednesday as claims that former President Donald Trump praised the anti-semitic leader made headlines.

On Tuesday, the New York Times released audio of Trump’s ex-chief of staff, Ret. Gen. John Kelly claiming that the former president told him previously that Hitler “did some good things.” The Trump campaign later denied the claims.

The Drudge Report’s conservative founder, Matt Drudge, led the page with the news, posting an image of Hitler and a link to Trump’s reported comments.

In a further hit at the Republican nominee, Drudge re-upped an article from September to the banner with the paraphrasing headline: ‘Blame the Jews if I Lose.’ The September story reported remarks made by Trump that if he were not to win the election, Jewish people would have “a lot to do with a loss.”

Hitler’s anti-semitism played a central role in his Nazi ideology and policy-making when he led Germany in the 1930s and 1940s, persecuting Jews at first and, ultimately, killing 6 million Jewish people in the Holocaust.

The parallel drawn by Drudge’s banner is, perhaps, the most blistering attack on Trump by the outlet’s editor, who has taken in recent months to mocking the former president with AI-generated imagery critiquing his campaign trail rhetoric and stunts.

As a conservative, Drudge would previously critique liberal stances, but his recent sharp turn on the Republican nominee – following a 2020 fallout – is striking to MAGA supporters and Democrats alike.
