Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade Says NYC Mayor Mamdani’s ‘Totally Wrong’ Mayoral Goals are ‘Maybe Good for Uganda’

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has “totally wrong” mayoral goals that are “maybe good for Uganda,” Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, co-host of Fox & Friends, said Monday.

Kilmeade and his guest, OutKick founder Clay Travis, were musing about the 2028 presidential election when the topic of the mayor came up.

Travis said the decision by Democrats to hold primaries in South Carolina first “is a significant detail because I think that’s a big win for Kamala Harris, who is clearly going to run in 2028.”

He continued, “Let me give you an idea, Brian. We’re fortunate that Zohran Mamdani was born in Uganda and is not eligible to run for President of the United States, because if he were eligible, he would 100 percent, in my opinion, be the nominee for 2028. Because he has all the cache, he has all the charisma, he has all the attention. He is where the Democratic Party electorate, in the primary, would, I think, be if he were eligible to run. We’ll see if it translates to AOC.”

“Clay, I’ll give you charisma, composure, talent, and smile but his ideas are some of the worst ideas,” Kilmeade countered.

“Wrong on everything, Brian!” Travis answered.

“Wrong on absolutely everything, absolutely wrong. Not even gray area wrong,” Kilmeade continued. “Totally wrong. It’s maybe good for Uganda, I don’t know Uganda politics as much as I should.”

Mamdani was born in Kampala, Uganda, to parents of Indian descent. He and his family moved to South Africa and then the United States when he was a young child. He graduated from high school in New York City and attended college in Maine, and first entered politics in 2015 as a volunteer, per Intelligencer. Mamdani is not eligible to run for the office of President of the United States because he was not born in the country.
