Fox’s Stuart Varney Warns Next Move In Trump-Musk Fight Certain to ‘Shift the Market’ — Even As Tesla Rebounds
Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney warned on Friday that whatever development comes next in the Trump-Musk feud roiling American politics and the economy would be likely to “shift the market” — even as Tesla’s stock price rebounds.
“Now the big question: can Musk and the President patch up the feud or at least calm things down? We’ll see,” began Varney on the topic, adding:
There were reports that there was supposed to be a call between Trump and Musk. Our sources say the President does not intend to speak to Musk today. A flurry of posts on X and Truth Social captured everybody’s attention. Musk threw a tantrum, insulting the President and trying to damage his big beautiful bill. Trump was relatively restrained. There was some conciliation. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman posted this: “I support Donald Trump and Elon Musk and they should make peace for the benefit of this great country.” Musk replied, “You are not wrong.”
Two points to make here. Number one, the Democrats are happy to see this very public fight. Number two, Senate Republicans are likely to side with Trump, making passage of the big beautiful bill more likely. We’ve got a modest gain for Tesla stock after the huge sell-off yesterday.
It’s back up about five percent. Stay tuned please because any new post from either side could shift the market and so could a phone call if it were to take place. Yes, this is Friday, June the 6th, very important date. It’s the 81st anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy. My father was there.
Tesla stock was down some 15% on Thursday as Musk and Trump exchanged brutal jabs on social media, with Musk going so far as to implicate Trump in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring and Trump threatened to cancel Musk’s government contracts.
