Mary Trump Slams Dem ‘Leadership Void’ — Too Worried About ‘Collegiality’ To Fight

Ex-presidential niece Mary Trump told SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah that there’s a “leadership void” among Democrats who are more worried about “collegiality” than in fighting back against President Donald Trump and his agenda.

The biggest story in Democratic politics this week is the stunning mayoral primary upset win of Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, after which a slew of MAGA figures posted attacks on the candidate, who is a democratic socialist and a Muslim American — both of which figured heavily in the barrage.

On Friday’s edition of The Dean Obeidallah Show, the host talked with Ms. Trump   — a strident Trump critic — about Mamdani’s victory, and they both agreed it illustrates the lack of leadership in the Democratic establishment:

DEAN OBEIDALLAH: I think we have a leadership crisis.

MARY TRUMP: I completely agree with you. We have a Leadership Void, quite frankly, and I do not see yet who’s going to fill it. It just continues to be, to impede our ability to get the message out, because let’s be real here.

The Democrats are out of power at every level of government. Okay, fine, so what does that mean? That we just sit around and wait?

No, because if we sit around and do nothing in the meantime, we’re not gonna win ever again. So this is the time to win, or first of all, join, engage with the messaging war. And then win it because we have the right messages.

We just don’t have the right messengers. And we don’t have the people crafting the message in a way that is going to resonate with the American people. And we do not have enough Democrats, in Congress in particular, who understand that the future of American democracy is more important than collegiality in Congress.

DEAN OBEIDALLAH: That’s an interesting way of putting it. And just so it’s clear, and I don’t want to speak for you, Mary, we’re rooting for the Democrats. I’m not here–.

And we want, and everyone listening will say, but what about Jasmine Crockett? What about Jamie Raskin? And we’ll all name the same 10 or 15. The problem is there’s 270 plus Democrats in the House and the Senate. Why is it that we name the 10 or 12 who are good fighters?
