Reporters Shout Questions About Iran War As Trump Quickly Walks Away

President Donald Trump walked away from reporters Thursday as they shouted questions in pursuit of updates Iran war updates.

Trump spoke in front of the White House to announce his “Freedom Haulers” initiative to train and recruit military veterans for commercial trucking careers. In addition, Trump announced a strict federal crackdown on CDLs for non-citizens.

Trump closed the presentation by saying, “This is going to be a big day for our wonderful patriots, are great veterans. They are going to produce like nobody else can produce. I want to thank you and especially all those people you are going to be hiring, and I know a lot of your competitors are also doing the same thing, so it is going to be really fantastic.”

Trump thanked Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and others, then closed with, “Bye. Thank you,” before turning on his heel and escaping into the White House as reporters shouted after him. The strains of “YMCA” drowned out the questions, but one could be heard clearly saying, “How long do you expect the war with Iran to last?”

On Wednesday, Trump raged to Fox News’s Trey Yingst that “we are going to beat the f*cking sh*t out of [Iran]” in response to Tuesday night’s surprise attack on U.S. troops in Jordan.

Trump went on to say, ‘We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating,’” Yingst told Fox & Friends.

Wednesday night, U.S. Central Command announced that it completed a “heavy wave of strikes.”

“At 10 p.m. ET on July 29, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully completed a heavy wave of strikes against Iran in response to yesterday’s attempted missile attacks on U.S. forces,” CENTCOM reported, continuing:

CENTCOM assets struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities. The strikes aimed to further diminish threats posed by Iran and its proxies to American forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Gulf countries.

On July 28, IRGC forces launched multiple ballistic missiles from Iran in an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces based in the Middle East. All Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted.

More than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently deployed to the Middle East and remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready.
