Russia Accuses CNBC Reporter Hadley Gamble of ‘Positioning Herself as a Sex Object’ to Distract Putin
Russian state media has accused CNBC reporter Hadley Gamble of “positioning herself as a sex object” in order to distract President Vladimir Putin during a recent interview.
Gamble sat down with Putin at an energy forum in Moscow last week, during which the CNBC reporter moderated a panel with him and other business leaders.
After Putin had already called Gamble “beautiful” to dismiss her questions, the Kremlin is now accusing her of being part of an American “special operation,” according to translations from The Daily Beast.
Presenter Vladimir Solovyov reportedly told his state radio show that Gamble was used to distract Putin with her “sex appeal,” acting as if “she was in the movie 9½ Weeks or Basic Instinct.”
Russian media figures are also claiming Gamble was being used in response to White House adviser Fiona Hill’s claim that Putin had previously selected an attractive female interpreter “specifically to distract” Donald Trump.
Host Olga Skabeeva additionally claimed that Gamble was taking part in an American “special operation,” adding, “Let me remind you that only a short time ago there was a huge scandal when it turned out that Putin brought translator Daria Boyarskaya to his negotiations with Donald Trump… Look at Comrade Gamble, she is also a beauty. Look at Megyn Kelly, she is the woman the Americans brought the last time. She was a blonde, this time it’s a brunette. They’re in the same age and weight category. They keep trying to get to Putin.”
Pro-Kremlin propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov said that Gamble “worked her body language to the fullest,” by playing with her hair and “rolling out her tongue,” concluding that she, “behaved boldly, openly positioning herself as a sexual object.”
“Hadley squeezed into a tight black dress, fluffed up her flowing hair, and put on a pair of nude leg-lengthening Louboutin high-heel pumps,” he added, also saying her legs were “covered in shimmering body oil, as though this wasn’t a work assignment.”
