‘STUPID’: Trump Rages Over Birthright Citizenship After Leaving Supreme Court Early

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to rage about birthright citizenship just moments after oral arguments concluded in the highly-anticipated Supreme Court case on the issue Wednesday.

“We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow ‘Birthright’ Citizenship! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote on Truth Social.

It was Trump’s first public comment on the case since he attended the beginning of oral arguments on Wednesday. He’s the first sitting president to attend oral arguments in a Supreme Court case and was there for roughly 80 minutes before leaving.

Solicitor General John Sauer argued on behalf of the administration, which is challenging a lower court ruling striking down the president’s executive order ending birthright citizenship. Sauer was challenged multiple times on Wednesday, including by conservative judges.

Attorney General Pam Bondi accompanied Trump on Wednesday morning, along with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. MS NOW legal affairs reporter Fallon Gallagher reported from the court that the Justices did not acknowledge the president in the audience when they arrived, though she noted Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas appeared to glance out into the audience more than usual.

If the administration is successful, the landmark case would end more than 100 years of precedent in babies being born in the United States automatically being considered legal citizens.

“It had to do with the babies of slaves,” Trump told Fox News’ Peter Doocy about the case on Tuesday. “It didn’t have to do with the protection of multimillionaires and billionaires wanting to have their children get American citizenship. It is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s been so badly handled by legal people over the years,” the president told Fox News’ Peter Doocy about the case this week.

This is a breaking story and it has been updated.
