Trump Spox Attacks Media When Confronted Over Angry Voters ‘in Red Districts’ Revolting Over DOGE

Trump White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attacked the media when she was asked about irate constituents in red states revolting over President Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts on Friday.

The Trump-Musk Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) steamroller has come to dominate the discussion of Trump’s first month in office. But some recent polls and a raucous town hall meeting in Roswell, Georgia on Thursday show signs that the initiative is engendering anxiety, resentment, and discontent even among Trump supporters.

When Leavitt came to the sticks on the driveway to the West Wing Friday morning to address reporters, NBC News White House correspondent Peter Alexander asked her about voters like the ones in Georgia who jeered Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) .

Leavitt immediately attacked the media for elevating criticism that she claimed is contradicted by polling:

KAROLINE LEAVITT: Morning, everybody. Happy Friday!

PETER ALEXANDER: Can I ask you a question, Karoline, very quickly?

Sure!

We’re now hearing from constituents in some traditionally red districts right now complaining about what they say is the chainsaw approach, and saying that it’s been done very sloppily, the cuts to jobs and spending.

How do you respond to that criticism?

KAROLINE LEAVITT: I love how the media takes a few critics, when the overwhelming response from the American people is support for what this administration is doing.

If you look at the public polling, 70% of Americans, according to CBS, believe that President Trump is delivering on the promises he made.

PETER ALEXANDER: And 45–.

KAROLINE LEAVITT: And there should be there should be no secret about the fact that this administration is committed to cutting waste, fraud and abuse. The president campaigned on that promise.

Americans elected him on that promise, and he’s actually delivering on it. And this is something that Democrats promised they would do for decades. President Trump is just the first president to get it done.
