Trump Wigs Out In The Wee Hours Over ‘Sick’ Seth Meyers ‘Rumor’ – But It’s Old News

President Donald Trump was up into the wee hours of Wednesday morning thinking about the “sick rumor” that NBC had extended Late Night host Seth Meyers’ contract.

Taking to Truth Social and unloading a series of posts promoting Trey Gowdy’s new book and taunting Chicago’s Democratic leaders as part of an ongoing feud, the president shared one last thought at around 2 a.m. ET before finally falling asleep:

There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers. He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract. I don’t know, but I’ll definitely be finding out!!!

The news of Meyers contract renewal broke in 2024, when NBC extended his contract through to 2028. There are no reports of the fresh negotiations that Trump appears to be referring to.

Still, the fixation comes as a part of a running campaign against late-night comedians who have made him a favorite punchline.

Last month the president celebrated the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, warning that other hosts would soon follow, and just days ago he declared that ABC and NBC should have their broadcast licenses revoked and forced to “pay up BIG” for coverage that was critical of him.
