‘We Had The Receipts’: DNC’s Jamie Harrison Says He’ll Accept Will Cain’s Apology Over Contentious Fox Interview

The former chair of the Democratic National Committee said he would “of course” accept Fox News anchor Will Cain’s apology after a fiery interview between the two this week.

Appearing Friday on The Dean Obeidallah Show, Jamie Harrison told host Dean Obeidallah he wouldn’t hesitate to make peace with Cain.

Cain told Harrison, “I’m gonna have to cut you off,” during a heated Tuesday interview on Fox News.

Harrison told Obeidallah all Cain seemed to want to talk about was the Democratic Socialists of America, of which he is not a member:

DEAN OBEIDALLAH: He literally went on air and apologized. Do you accept his apology? Do you think I mean it?

JAMIE HARRISON: Of of course. You know, Dean, I’m my my grandma’s grandson, right? So, manners is is something that that I have. And you know, when people do wrong, you you accept their apologies if they regret for doing wrong. And listen, we had the receipts and I was just waiting to see what kind of response it was, but you know, they asked me — I normally do not go on Fox News.

I can’t recall the last time in five years that I’ve been on Fox News. And so, uh, the guy that the the booking company that works with me asked me if I would go on and they said, “Well,” and they want to talk about the South Carolina Senate primary, and the South Carolina Senate race. And I said, “Okay.” And, and of course, I can talk about that. I’m from South Carolina. I am, uh, I ran for the US Senate six years ago, so I think I know a little bit about that.

And I said, “As long as it’s not some kind of gotcha or, you know bait and switch or what have you.”

And of course, that’s exactly what it was.

I mean, it we went on and the first few minutes, all that he wanted to talk about was the DSA and this and that. And basically, I got to the point was like, okay, when are they going to talk about the US Senate race here in South Carolina?

But if you want to talk DSA, call somebody who’s a DSA member and have them be on. But that’s not me. I’m not a DSA member. So, I’m not going to sit there and defend them because I’m not a member of that organization.

The day after the interview, Cain issued an apology for the apparent “communication failure” that preceeding their on-air conflict, noting Harrison had a “reasonable expectation” that the interview would focus on South Carolina’s Republican primary.
