Alina Habba now says the allegations against Andrew Tate are “stomach-churning” after previously claiming to be a “big fan” of his.
The counselor to President Donald Trump appeared on a recent episode of the Epoch Times show American Thought Leaders. During her conversation with host Jan Jekielek, she briefly touched on the Tate brothers and their return to the United States. Their presence has been marred by controversy due to the fact that they’ve been investigated for human trafficking and were previously restricted from leaving Romania. Shortly after their arrival in Florida, the state announced its own investigation into Andrew and Tristan Tate.
Habba called the alleged crimes “stomach-churning.”
“The accusations against the Tate brothers are stomach-churning,” she said. “They are disturbing; and, as I will say, you know — and I’ve said many times since then — that is for the court to handle, and they should handle it.”
Jekielek then brought up the claim that she’s a fan of the Tate brothers, which she dismissed as a “great manipulation.”
“The Tate brothers, you know, have a tremendous social media presence in terms of — and what we were discussing [was] politics in the UK,” Habba said. “He was talking about running; and I am always passionate about people that are vocal against certain things. Now, that is very separate — I want to be very clear — than accusations of human trafficking, accusations of anything — rape, whatever the accusations are against them. You have to put that in one bucket, and that really is a very disturbing charge. Now, I don’t know the status of it. I’m also a lawyer. I know better than to talk about somebody’s case; but I will say that it is — there is no part of me that condones, at all, that behavior.”
Although she called it a “great manipulation,” the words did come directly from her. Upon meeting Tate on a podcast with host Benny Johnson, she greeted him by saying she was a “big fan.”
