Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) jabbed Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), on Monday while appearing on Benny Johnson’s podcast, claiming that the home invasion that resulted in Pelosi getting hit in the head with a hammer was a “dubious circumstance.”

Issa joined the pro-MAGA podcaster for a conversation that primarily focused on bashing California’s governor, but briefly moved on to the Pelosis as Issa mentioned Paul Pelosi’s recent hit-and-run charge.

“What? What’s going on here? Look, he finally caught a charge. Paul Pelosi is a member of the Bohemian Club. He needs to go to Bohemian Grove, where other people drive for you — you can be drunk as can be, and everything’s fine,” declared Issa, adding:

The fact is, the man has serious problems. We saw it in that very dubious circumstance where he let somebody in and ended up with his head knocked. We’ve seen it in multiple events, in Porsches and other cars that he owns, and his constant drinking.

Pelosi was charged on Friday with a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge for having allegedly hit a parked car in Napa Valley earlier in the month.

In 2022, a man broke into the Pelosis’ San Francisco home and attacked Paul Pelosi in an attack later revealed to be a targeted attack aimed at Nancy Pelosi. The intruder later said he entered the home with the intention to “break her kneecaps.”

In 2024, David DePape was sentenced today to 360 months in prison for the assault and attempted kidnapping charges as well.

“This sentence is a warning: violence against those who serve the public and their families will not be tolerated,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland at the time. “The Justice Department will aggressively prosecute those who target public servants and their families with violence. In a democracy, people vote, argue, and debate to achieve the policy outcome they desire. But the promise of democracy is that people will not employ violence to affect that outcome.”
