Joe Rogan Warns This One Move Is Guaranteed to Turn Texas Blue: ‘The Kids Will Turn On You’
Joe Rogan warned Republicans in Texas they will turn the state blue and “f*ck” everything up if completely ban weed and THC products.
On the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, which dropped on Thursday, Rogan laid out a simple scenario for Texas Republicans during a discussion on red states banning porn and marijuana.
“The THC thing…Here’s what Texas doesn’t understand. You will f*ck this place up and you will turn the whole thing blue. Kids will turn on you if you tell them they can’t smoke weed. They know weed’s not killing anybody!” Rogan said.
In Texas, medical marijuana is legal under the Texas Compassionate Use Program (CUP). Adding to complications over the legality of marijuana in the state, the Texas Department of State Health Services reinstated past controlled substance bans on products containing cannabinoids such as delta-8 THC, delta-10 THC, THCP. Those products are now classified as Schedule I controlled substances, sending major waves through the hemp market in the state.
The Texas Tribune reported this week that a federal judge banned a motion seeking a temporary restraining order on the reclassification.
Andrea Steel, the lead counsel for multiple hemp retailers and a distributor who filed suit, said she expects a “hard fight” on the case.
“A temporary restraining order is emergency relief, held to one of the toughest standards in federal law,” she said. “Being denied one at this stage does not decide our case. We expected a hard fight, and we remain confident in the law.”
Rogan is a longtime and vocal marijuana user who has advocated for full legalization. He moved from California, where recreational marijuana is legal, in 2020 for the red state of Texas and he’s since slammed California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) over the state’s taxes, regulations, and Covid-era restrictions.
Texas is a reliably red state, but Democrats are hoping for some major victories in the near future, including with Senate candidate James Talarico, who has been polling close to Republican Ken Paxton.
Rogan has warned that Texas turning blue, mainly through Democrats moving to the state, would “ruin” the state’s balance.
“You’re going to ruin it for you too — you don’t get it,” he said. “Like, balance is important.”
