White House Slams Joy Reid Claiming Trump Will Bring Back Deported Migrants as ‘Nearly Slave Labor’: ‘Takes Were Too Dumb Even for MSDNC’

The White House mocked former MSNBC host Joy Reid’s cancellation after she laid into the administration and claimed President Donald Trump wants to bring back deported migrants as “nearly slave labor.”
On The Joy Reid Show this week, Reid highlighted comments by Trump from CNBC’s Squawk Box in which he discussed a potential “temporary pass” that would help farmers and other industries avoid ICE raids.
“They’re just not doing that work. And they’ve tried. We’ve tried. Everybody tried. They don’t do it. These people do it naturally, naturally,” the president said in the clip aired by Reid.
Trump said in the interview that some workers are being deported, but given a legal “pass” back into the country.
“I want to work with them; and in some cases, we’re sending them back to their country with a pass back in legally. And we’re doing things that are very difficult to do and very complex, but it works really well,” he said. We’re sending them back and then they’re schooling, they’re learning, they’re coming in, they’re coming in legally. We have a lot of that going on, but we’re taking care of our farmers. We can’t let our farmers not have anybody.”
Reid mocked Trump’s comments, including him cracking that migrants don’t get “bad backs,” and argued current ICE raids are mainly for show.
She said:
Just to be clear, if you are a MAGA voter who supported Trump in order to see millions and millions of non-white migrants deported, he just told you that the violent militarized masked ICE deportations that he and Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem and Tom Homan are staging on camera to entertain and appease you are temporary. He intends to bring the deportees right on back here soon somehow to get them to want to come back because they make the perfect nearly slave labor. They never complain. They don’t get a bad back.
The Reid comments were first highlighted by Fox News Digital, and the White House decided to respond, mocking Reid for having takes “too dumb” for MSNBC. Reid’s MSNBC show was cancelled in February.
Reid’s comments can be seen at the beginning of her live Thursday broadcast below:
“There’s a reason Joy Reid’s show got canceled — her takes were too dumb even for ‘MSDNC.’ President Trump is committed to ensuring American businesses have the legal workforce needed to be successful and that workers receive fair compensation and adequate workforce protections,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said.
Jackson blasted Reid as “out of touch” and argued “illegal employment” exposes workers and businesses to major risks. Reid has been a vocal critic of Trump’s mass deportations, arguing recently in a fiery debate with Piers Morgan that Trump is “fixated” on race and deporting people without due process and based on their skin color.
“llegal employment exposes workers to potential trafficking, exploitation and other dangerous situations,” Jackson said. “It’s Joy Reid and the Democrat Party who are so out of touch they claim they need illegal aliens to do the jobs, for cheap labor, that they don’t want to do. The left’s policies support the labor trafficking and exploitation that led to a recent ICE raid at a marijuana facility rescuing 14 children from potential labor exploitation.”
