LA Chargers Coach Jim Harbaugh Compares Himself to Moses in Wild Quote About His Coaching Staff

Los Angeles Chargers
Adding to an already extensive list of brow-raising quotes in his career, Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh recently compared himself to Moses.
During a press conference on Wednesday morning, Harbaugh was asked about one of the coaches on his staff. To describe how he values his coaches, the 60-year-old took everyone by surprised when he referenced the biblical figure.
“He’s just a great coach,” Harbaugh said. “I mean, one of the best I’ve ever been around. Like Moses, I’m gonna die leaning on my staff. [Offensive coordinator] Greg Roman, [defensive coordinator] Jesse Minter, [special teams coordinator] Ryan Ficken, those coordinators are — in my opinion — some of the best in the business.”
Most social media users simply laughed at the “Harbaugh-ism” that has become expected of him at this point. One viral tweet cleverly made reference to the sign-stealing scandal the coach was involved in during his final year at Michigan.
“Moses also had someone upstairs giving him signs,” the tweet read.
During the 2023 season, it was revealed that former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions orchestrated a complex network of sign-stealing in previous years. According to reports, Stalions had numerous people traveling across the country to record the play call signs of future and potential opponents of the Wolverines. Harbaugh denied having any knowledge of the operation, but was suspended for several games. He returned in time for the College Football Playoff and led his team to a national championship.
