‘That’s That Bullshit!’ Roland Martin Torpedoes Stephen A. Smith Presidential Talk — Compares Him To Trump

Roland Martin torpedoed talk of Stephen A. Smith running for president, and told Jim Acosta the chatter reminds him of President Donald Trump’s ascent into presidential politics.

ESPN star Smith has been teasing a presidential run in a series of interviews and has even been included in some early Democratic primary polls.

Martin — host of — was a guest on Thursday’s edition of the Substack video podcast The Jim Acosta Show, during which Acosta asked about “the Stephen A. Smith thing”:

JIM ACOSTA: What do you make of the Stephen A Smith thing where he’s out there saying I might run for president or something like that? Do you I’m like women what?

ROLAND MARTIN: First of all, um There’s a phrase– “That’s that bullshit!” Okay, that’s that bullshit.

I give zero thought. Zero thought– I don’t waste one molecule or brain cell on that idea.

But here’s why that’s even a conversation.

And again, i’m going to blame mainstream media. Mainstream media is the reason Trump is sitting in the Oval Office. Because mainstream media legitimized Trump. Mainstream Media allowed him to lie. They allowed him to lie about a billionaire. They allowed him to come on the air.

And I’m going to tell you, and listen, I call names. I remember when I was in DC. They were promoting Trump doing a sit-down interview with Wolf Blitzer and I turned to Stephanie Kotuby, I said “Why in the fuck are y’all talking to Trump?”.

She goes. “Oh, it’s cuz he’s always great ratings,” I said, “But it’s bullshit Stephanie.”.

I said if we’re gonna– I said “Y’ all have got to stop being enamored with his playing and his lies.”

JIM ACOSTA: Well, and the other thing that happened too Roland is, I mean, after he left the White House in disgrace, you know, that should have been it. That should have been it in terms of the coverage of Donald Trump.

That should’ve been, he should have been done, end of story. And yeah, Kevin McCarthy resuscitated and the Republican Party resuscitated, Mitch McConnell missed his chance to, you know, be done with him and so on. But the press continued– they could not give up the addiction to Trump TV.
