House Democrat Torches Fetterman: ‘Nowhere To Be Found’

Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA) had sharp words for Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) on Wednesday, saying the senator is “nowhere to be found.”

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Fetterman had blown off meetings with constituents on numerous occasions. In one instance, he prioritized a Fox News interview over a scheduled meeting with paralyzed veterans. Elsewhere, he suggested that children’s hospital executives concerned about Medicaid cuts only wanted to meet him because “they just want free trips to DC.” Also, the senator balked at going to a funeral for three officers killed in his hometown after learning it was three hours long.

Fetterman, who routinely appears on Fox News and bashes fellow Democrats for being socialists and insufficiently pro-Israel, has seen his popularity with Pennsylvania Democrats crater. At one point, he enjoyed a net approval rating of +68 points, but by March, it was -40, a staggering 108-point swing.

Deluzio appeared on Wednesday’s installment of The Lead on CNN, where Jake Tapper asked what he has heard from constituents about Fetterman.

“My constituents and folks all over Pennsylvania are pretty frustrated with John Fetterman,” Deluzio said. “They’re pretty disappointed. I’ve been all over not just my district of Pennsylvania, trying to help us flip the most competitive congressional races. And John Fetterman is nowhere to be found. And frankly, folks don’t want him on the trail. He’s spending his time, frankly, going on right-wing media to bash the Democrats.”

“What are the odds that you challenge Fetterman in a Democratic Senate primary in 2028?” Tapper asked.

“I’ve gotten a lot of encouragement to do it. I’ll make that decision when the time comes, because right now we have competitive races to win,” Deluzio said. “That’s what I’m focused on.”

Deluzio went on to say that constituents have told him that they do not believe that Fetterman “doesn’t have the respect for the office that he occupies.”
