‘Sayonara Sucka!’ Andy Cohen Goes OFF on Bill de Blasio As Eric Adams is Sworn In as New York City Mayor
Andy Cohen started 2022 off strong by celebrating the fact that Bill de Blasio’s time as New York City mayor was swiftly coming to end.
De Blasio initiated the ball drop in Times Square, which will be his last time ringing in the new year for the city since Eric Adams was minutes away from being sworn in as his successor. Cohen and CNN’s Anderson Cooper watched all of this go down during their new year celebration broadcast, and Cooper could only watch helplessly as Cohen went on a full-throttle tear into the outgoing mayor.
Let me tell you something. Watching Mayor De Blasio do his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York! The only thing that the Democrats and the Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been, so sayonara sucka! 2022! It’s a new year. ‘Cause guess what? I have a feeling I’m going to be standing right here next year, and you know what I’m not going to be looking at, dancing as the city comes apart? You!
Cooper interjected at that point to let Cohen know Adams was just about to be sworn in. The programming shifted over to the ceremony, and Cohen was heard exclaiming “yes” to the start of the new mayor’s term.
