‘He Lost!’: Geraldo Rivera Clashes With Bill O’Reilly Over 2020 Election, January 6
Veteran journalists Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera clashed as Rivera pushed the former Fox News host on the 2020 presidential election and President Donald Trump‘s insistence that the contest was rigged.
Rivera appeared on O’Reilly’s We’ll Do It LIVE! with Bill O’Reilly on Thursday, during which O’Reilly pointed out millions of Americans think mainstream media is “dishonest.”
Rivera agreed O’Reilly is “not corrupt,” but then asked about 2020:
BILL O’REILLY: And the reason that I’m successful is I work my butt off. All right? And I understand how America works. I understand the folks, OK? You understand the folks, too, but on a different level. I understand —
RIVERA: The difference is that you, Yeah.
O’REILLY: -that 77 million people who voted for Donald Trump think that the establishment media is dishonest in this country.
So I stepped up and developed a product, all right, products, books, radio, television, whereby they can access somebody who isn’t corrupt, me.
RIVERA: All right, you’re not corrupt and I agree with you and that’s what I love about you. But let me ask you, did President Trump lose the 2020 election? Yes or no?
O’REILLY: There’s no evidence that he won the election. So evidence is, and you know this because you’re a lawyer –
RIVERA: OK, yes, he lost.
O’REILLY: Evidence is that you can take it to a federal grand jury and litigate whatever the crime may be. That has not happened. That is a fact, OK?
RIVERA: That’s baloney.
O’REILLY: So, there isn’t evidence in play.
RIVERA: There’s no evidence that he won, that he won the election, because he lost the election, OK? He lost!
O’REILLY: You’re entitled to that opinion.
RIVERA: He unleashed this anarchy on the Capitol of the heart of democracy.
O’REILLY: He didn’t do that. That just happened. He clearly said peacefully. And if you go speech, you know-
RIVERA: Come on, Bill. He made liars of the Republican party.
O’REILLY: He didn’t want those people to go into that building. And he knew it was going to hurt him and it did hurt him.
RIVERA: Wants people to lie about the election, won the election.
O’REILLY: It’s not a lie. It’s an opinion. There’s a difference between a lie and an opinion. And you got to understand that difference.
