‘What a Pathetic Joke!’ Chris Cuomo Trashes Repeat Guest Bill O’Reilly Day After Heated Clash
Chris Cuomo held up frequent guest Bill O’Reilly’s recent slam of Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) as a “pathetic joke” in a segment examining recent MAGA arguments on everything from tariffs and the Iran war to presidential aide Natalie Harp.
Cuomo aired clips Thursday night on News Nation of his previous exchanges with the longtime conservative journalist, in which the pair discussed different topics, before revisiting their exchange on Harp.
Ossoff sparked MAGA outrage Sunday after mentioning Harp during a campaign rally, claiming the president would rather “travel with Natalie” than do his job.
O’Reilly was among numerous conservative commentators who slammed the Georgia senator for the remark, claiming he’d implied an untoward relationship between the president and his aide.
Cuomo replayed the dialogue between himself and O’Reilly and then proclaimed O’Reilly’s take — that Ossoff’s remark was a “gutter snipe” — as “the real Hail Mary” of MAGA arguments.
“MAGA is also hoping to distract from the economy, from the war, from the corruption by saying, ‘Well. Let’s talk about character,'” he said.
“Seriously. They’re banking on voters dismissing the robust arguments that will be coming at them from Democrats like Sen. Jon Ossoff by painting them as radicals. Commies freaks right? But also get why would you impugn this woman’s character?
“He was being serious. He was actually getting upset that I wouldn’t accept that complete bunch of hypocrisy. Admit I did a good job keeping my face straight, though. Come on. For most of it. Because what a pathetic joke this is now. They want to talk about decency,” he added.
“So my question is, let’s bring in a critical thinker here who supports this administration. And make the case that MAGA hasn’t lost the plot,” Cuomo said.
Cuomo had earlier chided O’Reilly after the conservative claimed he was so upset at Ossoff’s Harp comment that he’d vote for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin before casting a ballot for the politician.
“You’d vote for Vladimir Putin, who is a murderer,” Cuomo pointed out. “You’d vote for a murderer over a U.S. Senator.”
“Well, when you frame it that way I might stay home,” O’Reilly replied.
“Probably a good call, Bill,” Cuomo quipped.
