Members of Israel’s Knesset Left ‘In Tears And Shock’ After Viewing IDF Video Of Hamas Atrocities
More than 50 members of Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, were left “in tears and shock” after a closed-door screening of the atrocities committed by Hamas that were caught on tape, The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday, and video was shared online.
The Times reported that the video was a compilation of raw footage taken from the terrorists’ body cams as they slaughtered Jews on Oct. 7. It was put together by the Israeli Defense Forces and previously shown to the press and ambassadors to Israel.
“’After five minutes, I ran from the hall, shaking and crying,’ Likud MK Galit Distel Atbaryan posted to X. She said she took a tranquilizer from the Knesset doctor waiting outside in the hall ‘without thinking twice,’” The Times wrote.
Michael Dickson of StandWithUs Israel posted video of the stricken Knesset members leaving the screening while wiping away tears and embracing one another.
“Members of the Knesset – Israel’s parliament – were invited to watch a film prepared by the IDF showing the horrific things that took place during the Hamas massacre of October 7th. Many of them could not make it till the end. They left in tears and shock,” he posted to X.
The Times reported that the Knesset video was originally posted to Instagram by I24 journalist Natasha Raquel, who wrote:
Today 56 members of the Knesset were invited to watch a 46 min film showing the horrific things that took place during the H@mas massacre on Oct. 7th. The video was compiled by the IDF using primarily Hamas Go pro and camera footage. This video was shown to journalists last week. It has not been released to the public out of respect for the families. All the videos I have posted of Hamas atrocities are being slowly taken down by Meta as I am also shadow banned. The following is the reaction to the video.
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana requested that lawmakers be able to watch the footage so they would “know who and what we are facing,” and so that “we will all know how much our path in this war against this evil is justified,” sources told The Times.
The IDF came under scrutiny Tuesday for bombing a Palestinian refugee camp in Gaza where they said they killed Hamas commander Ibrahim Biari.
The Times cited Palestinian reports that “at least 50 people were killed in the strike and subsequent collapse” of Hamas tunnels under Gaza.
