An NBC News Twitter Account Cut Off Full Priebus Quote on Muslim Registry


The NBC News PR Twitter account tweeted out a partial quote from Reince Priebus about a potential Muslim registry this morning.

Chuck Todd asked the incoming White House chief of staff if he can “unequivocally rule out” a Muslim registry.

Priebus responded, “I’m not gonna rule out anything, but we’re not gonna have a registry based on a religion.”

The issue of a Muslim registry became an issue after talk recently by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, and it reminded lots of people of Trump’s Muslim ban (which is still up on the campaign website as of this posting).

You’ll notice it leaves out the full context of the statement. The Twitter account responded thusly after being called out:
