Sen. Barbara Boxer Unloads On GOP Women’s Health Views: ‘Maybe They Don’t Like Their Moms’
The Washington Examiner‘s Charlie Spierling reports that at a Planned Parenthood luncheon Tuesday in San Jose, Calif., Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) had especially harsh words for the Republican Party in response to GOP Senate candidate Todd Akin’s controversial comments about “legitimate” rape and pregnancy.
“There is a war against women, and Romney and Ryan — if they are elected — would become its top generals,” Boxer reportedly said while labeling Akin’s comments a “direct outgrowth” of what she sees as the extreme abortion views held by the GOP.
“Where’s the outrage by Mitt Romney?” Boxer asked.
She then continued on to give a bit of her own psychoanalysis of the GOP: “There is a sickness out there in the Republican Party, and I’m not kidding. Maybe they don’t like their moms or their first wives; I don’t know what it is.”
